The Sun Doesn’t Shine
Two Awards in Two Weeks

Late March was an auspicious period for Xavier Beauchesne-Rondeau. His short film Il ne fait pas soleil (The Sun Doesn’t Shine), distributed by Vidéographe, won two awards in Quebec competitions in the space of two weeks.

On March 18, he won the “Tourner à tout prix” award at the 16th edition of the Regard sur le court métrage au Saguenay festival. This award goes to the best “no-budget” short film by a filmmaker under 30 years of age. Then, on March 31, he walked away with the “Fiction” jury award at the 20th edition of the festival Vidéastes recherché-es.

These awards, in cash and services, will undeniably help Xavier Beauchesne-Rondeau firm up his film projects, which include the completion of his self-produced first feature film, entitled Hier, aujourd’hui, hier.
