Jericho is an alarming statement about the decay of the city as a technological organization. The title refers to the biblical legend: the divine destruction of Jericho by the blaring of trumpets. Similar to other videos of the series, The Anti-Cycle of Megaphony, Istvan Kantor uses the image of a man screaming into a megaphone and electronic image manipulation to propose a subversive and destructive vision of creation, viewed as a passionate act of refusal. Jericho reflects the rebellious attitude and struggle of Joe Shoe (a present-day Joshua), who, as an illegal alien, is confronted by the laws of a human-made environment.
