The struggle of the M.P.L.A. (the Angolan Liberation Movement) against Portuguese colonialism is shown in a positive light in this video, which was created as a tool for raising Canadian awareness. The video is divided into three parts. The first tells the history of Angola, a Portuguese colony based on racial segregation. The second part illustrates the liberated zones - mainly rural - and the war between the Portuguese and the M.P.L.A. The third part explains how the liberated zones are working and the advances made in organizing education, health services and culture. The video ends with a call to Canadians to support the struggle.
