Following an original idea by Jean-Pierre Saint-Louis, the creation of the videotape Cadavres exquis was inspired by the written concept "exquisite corpse", invented by the Surrealist movement at the beginning of the 20th century. Three editors-directors have deconstructed love stories, related by 20 people, in order to create new ones. The result is three imaginary, disparate, and entertaining tales: Qui va à la chasse perd la face by Lorraine Dufour, Gars échaudé craint l'eau chaude by Ruth de Launière and Dans le doute, obstine-toi by Jean-Pierre Saint-Louis.
