Marie-Julie Dallaire
A graduate of Concordia University (Montréal), Marie-Julie Dallaire has since garnered experience in the fields of cinema, television and advertising. A screenwriter and director, she took part in the Course Destination Monde and collaborated on the collective film Cosmos that won the 1996 Prix des cinémas $$ d'art et d'essai at the Directors' Fortnight, at the Cannes Festival. Notre père, her film about Pops, Father Emmett Johns, the founder of the Dans la rue organization won the 2007 Prize of the Alex and Ruth Dworkin Foundation for the Promotion of Tolerance through Cinema at the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois. The film was also nominated for the Jutra award for the year's best documentary. Also in 2007, her Marie-Antoinette sur fond vert won the Prix Gémeaux for Best Documentary - Culture. She is currently finishing post-production of the fiction-documentary series Un monde sans pitié and is developing her first feature-length film with micro_scope.
