Julien Poulin was born in Montreal in 1946. This actor and director played in many movies such as Le crime d'Ovide Plouffe, Le Matou, Le Party, Solo and L'oreille d'un sourd. He also appeared on television in Le temps d'une paix, Peau de Banane, Les tisserands du pouvoir, Super sans plomb, Blanche, Scoop and Les machos. He began his career as a director in 1972 with À mort, an unfinished look at the famous Parc Belmont. Working with his director friend Pierre Falardeau, he co-wrote many socially relevant movies such as Le Magra (1975), À Force de courage (1977), Pea Soup (1978), Speak White (1980) and Elvis Gratton (1981 et 1984) in which he also held the leading role.
