Monique Crépault was born in 1956. In 1981, she received a diploma in Stage Design from the École Nationale de Théâtre. In 1986, she studied photography at the Université de Montréal and video directing at P.R.I.M.. In the domain of theatre and dance, she worked as a stage designer, a lighting engineer and a prop woman. In 1986, she co-directed Jack in the box and the year after, she directed Merz Opéra and Dry Cleaning en voix off. She is now a sculptor.
