Charles Rainville
Charles Rainville is an artist who delves into the intricate relationship between sound and tangible objects or concepts. His artistic endeavors encompass a wide range of audiovisual productions and installations, enabling him to create captivating sensory experiences that immerse viewers in his work. Drawing inspiration from both visual art and music, Charles expands his interests to experimental cinema, digital-audio installation, and photography. His artistic practice is centered around discovering fresh perspectives to bring attention to our environment and the individuals who navigate it. His primary objective is to gain a deeper understanding of how individuals perceive themselves within their surroundings and the potential actions that may ensue. Charles Rainville holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in electroacoustic and digital art from the Université de Montréal (CA) and The Superior School of Art in Mons (BE). Currently, he is engaged in research at Concordia University, focusing on the production of audiovisual content. His compositions have been featured in renowned festivals across America and Europe, including the New York Electroacoustic Music Festival and Festival de la Imagen in Colombia. Charles actively participates in the cultural scene of Montreal and is a co-founder of Shift Radio, a notable platform. Additionally, he has gained recognition for his new music project, "distraction4ever."
