Olivier Gélinas Richard
Originally from Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Olivier Gélinas Richard completed a Bachelor's degree in interactive media at the University of Québec in Montreal and has worked since 2012 as a Camera Operator and Director of Photography on documentaries. He cultivates an interest in the commodification of the self, the notion of image control, the technical media used to store memory, and the urban development of regional areas. His interactive installation Photos d’identités - a diverted photo booth randomly distributing the portraits that it captures using a thermal printer normally intended for cash receipts, was exhibited at Le Livart gallery in Montreal in 2017. The release of Lot 51 demi-est, his first documentary short film distributed by Vidéographe, is scheduled for 2024.
