Bea de Visser
Bea de Visser began studying public space design and painting at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Breda and Rotterdam and later moved toward the study of electroacoustic sound. She began a performing arts career in stage sound production and live installations. Next, she returned to painting, accepting a two-year residency at the Rijsakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam (1993-1995). She now works within a broad artistic scope, ranging from independent art to well-established museums, to the public space, to theatre and film. Bea de Visser uses the mediums of photography, film and video and draws on her experience with digital media, painting, and sound performance to explore the intimacy and complexity of human relations.
