Bénédicte Deschamps was born in 1961. She received her BFA in Cinema Production at Concordia University. She has worked as a researcher and scriptwriter on many fictional projects and documentaries. She directed Daughter in my Shadow (exhibited at Cannes in 1984 at the Perspective du Cinéma), La Sierra Leone? Bonsoir!, Le désordre magique de tous les jours and Madame Arthur. L'attrait infini de quelques secondes is her first video.
