Daniel Guimond was born in Montreal in 1959. As a director, he produced Non (1977), Qu'on m'attache (1977), Z (1977), Lips (1978), It Was a Small Suicide (1979), Textual Strategies (1980), Divergences (1981) and Score (1988). He took part in many exhibitions and published several articles and essays in various magazines. In 1980, he won the Works of Special Distinciton Award at the 3rd Annual Tokyo Video Festival.
