Élaine Frigon
Élaine Frigon is interested in the act of preserving memories. In her recent videos, she transforms and re-arranges in evocative new visual constructions pieces of collective and individual life preserved by photographs, film or video. As a multidisciplinary artist for nearly the past twenty years, she has made videos, video installations and sculptural and sound works. Her videos have been shown in Quebec and the rest of Canada and in Berlin, Manosque, Lisbon and Manchester. Élaine Frigon holds bachelor degrees in architecture and visual arts. She has received numerous grants from the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec and the Canada Council for the Arts. She has been teaching visual and media art at the Collège Lionel-Groulx since 2001.
