Étienne Lacelle is an emerging filmmaker from Gatineau (QC). His cinematographic vision brought him recognition with Les Beiges (2016), which won awards for best film by a Canadian student at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma (FNC) and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2017. Since then, he has continued to explore and develop his relationship with the ‘real’ as source material for cinematographic work. His most recent project, En el tumulto de la calle, was shortlisted for the National Short and Medium-length Competition at the Montréal International Documentary Festival (RIDM). Lacelle has been a filmmaker-mentor at Wapikoni Mobile for three years.
