Julie Tremble
Julie Tremble is a video and animation artist. Nourished among others by cinema, literature and philosophy, she has been, since 2014, focusing on the question of representation in astronomy. From different sources: scientific articles, popular documentaries, films, digital simulations, communication documents from space agencies, she produces videos and animations that blend scientific data, documentaries and science fiction. Julie Tremble holds a Master’s degree in film studies from the Université de Montréal with an undergraduate in cinema and philosophy. Tremble’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at galleries including: Ludwig Museum, Fonderie Darling, Galerie Foreman, Galerie B-312, Dazibao, Centre VU, Sporobole, Galerie Joyce Yahouda, and festivals such as: Mirage, Mapping, Festival du nouveau cinéma, Images Festival, le Festival des films sur l’art, Espace IM-Media, et ARKIPEL International Documentary and Experimental Film Festival. In 2013 Tremble was the recipient of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) award for best work in art and experimentation presented as part of the 31e Rendez-vous du cinéma Québécois.
