Kristine Diekman
Kristine Diekman is a media artist whose work is shown internationally. She is committed to making socially integrated work while exploring issues on a personal level. Her work addresses institutionalization, language, sanity, somatic experience and feminist identity through documentary, narrative and poetic strategies. She is a recipient of grants from the New York State Council on the Arts, the New York Foundation for Arts, the Paul Robeson Foundation, the Rhode Island State Arts Council and Cthe alifornia State Council on the Arts. She is professor of video at California State University, San Marcos, where she has developed the Community Video Project, which works with members of the community to produce videos aimed at solving problems affecting the region. She serves on the Board of Directors of Media Arts Center, San Diego. She received her M.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design.
