Patrice Duhamel
Patrice Duhamel (1970-2008) was born in Contrecoeur, Quebec. After university studies in visual art, he became interested primarily in video, but also in drawing and photography. His work was shown in solo exhibitions in Montreal (at the Clark gallery, the Maison de la culture du Plateau-Mont-Royal and the Centre des arts actuels Skol) and at EspaceVirtuel (Chicoutimi), La Vitrine (Paris) and L'Écart (Rouyn-Noranda). His work was also included in group exhibitions in The Netherlands (De Overslag), France (Espace Huit Novembre), Toronto (YYZ Artists' Outlet) and Montreal (Circa gallery, Clark gallery, Espace Vidéographe). His tapes have been selected at the Rendez-vous du cinéma québecois and at the 28th Festival international nouveau cinéma et nouveaux médias. He had also undertaken, in his last few years, a written reflection on art via articles (in Parachute, Etc Montréal), catalogues, and press releases. Patrice Duhamel died in September 2008.
