Born in Sainte-Foy, Quebec in 1970 of Belgian parents, Sébastien Bage studied visual art and cinema and is currently studying Sanskrit and Chinese. He is a former participant in The Course Europe-Asie (Radio-Canada, 1990-91) and has subsequently shot several films in Burma with Brigitte Nadeau: Le marionnettiste de Pagan and Recherchées: femmes karennes. In 1991, these projects grew into the production house Toutatoé. A dedicated writer, Sébastien Bage wrote a poem for the L'Ange qui achetait des vestons exhibition by Pierre Bellemare in 1991.
