Yann Langevin was born in Brittany and trained as a sociologist. He has been working as a documentary filmmaker since the 1990s. In 2000, he co-directed Guantanamera Boxe, a film on Cuba’s boxing academies, which was nominated for a Jutra award in 2001 and shown in numerous international festivals. That same year he made Opération Dantec, produced by the NFB, on the cyberpunk author Maurice Dantec. In 2004, he plunged with delight into the circus world with Éloize, une histoire de cirque, his first documentary feature, an original and touching portrait of Cirque Éloize.
