Marie-Louise Gariépy
Marie-Louise Gariépy completed a bachelor's degree in physics and then pursued a career in computer science. In 2004, she left her position as a programmer in order to concentrate on filmmaking. She then joined the Kino movement and took film courses and workshops at the Université de Montréal. One $$ thing leading to another, she directed several short films. She devotes a substantial portion of her time to developing personal artistic projects. Her narrative short films display a very strong poetic and aesthetic style. In her latest project, Poésies Chtoniennes (Chthonic Poems), she explores a form of experimental cinema related to dance film that is very poetic as well. She wishes to further explore non-narrative films, which are well suited for the video clip generation.
