Roger Cantin

Born in St-Hyacinthe on the 29th of December 1949, Roger Cantin focuses primarily on writing. Working in the past as an independent prolific filmmaker, he has produced thirty short prize-winning films that have been singled out in international festivals. He co-wrote La Guerre des tuques (1984). For several years, he worked as a screenwriter producing fantasies and comedies. His signature zest still intact, Cantin finally returned to directing, and between 1989 and 1997, he made six feature-length films : Simon dans les nuages (1990), L'assassin jouait du trombone (1991), Le grand zèle (1992), Matusalem (1993), La vengeance de la femme en noir (1996) and Matusalem II (1997).
