A large proportion of the workers at Atlas Asbestos suffer from asbestosis. Through a series of pertinent interviews, this documentary paints an alarming picture of the situation and questions the actions of the union leaders in dealing with this problem. First-hand accounts by the wife and neighbour of a man who died of the disease demonstrate the scope of the problem and the lack of preventive measures at the plant. Alternating with these interviews are comments by union leaders that show their lack of involvement. Faced with these attitudes, the workers mobilized and started a newspaper called Le Journal lié which served to denounce both union and management.
