Mort, un moment
Momently Gone is an immersive and intimate video-poetic installation on the presence in oneself of the beings we miss. It was inspired by the mourning of two of my sisters, both of whom committed suicide, and that of my father, who died of cancer. This common thread gave birth to a set of works that is soothing rather than challenging, because there is sweetness in feeling close to those who are absent, there is sweetness in gathering around a universal reality. Thanks to digital tools, I work with layers of images and sound to recreate the poetic intertwining that we forge in ourselves when we are immersed in our inner core, anchored to the sensations and visions that we have of someone we miss. The theme is treated with variations: each experience of the disappearance is unique, symbolic and always fragmentary. Images turn into loops and are transformed, like our memories in the moments of fusion with the missing person whom we are obsessed with, a state of mind in which it is also ourselves who disappears, a state of mind by which, gradually, we evolve.
I invite you on this journey of reminiscences, escape, lack, awareness and new perceptions, an intermediate space, between conscious and unconscious, where everyone meets beyond culture, in the hidden world of senses.
