Daniel Reeves was born in 1948 in Washington D.C. and studied film and anthropology, receiving a B.A. and B.Sc. from Ithaca College in New York. He has been working in sculpture, photography and film and video since 1970, producing during this time a large body of independent work dealing principally with personal, political and spiritual themes. He has won numerous awards, in particular six from the National Endowment for the Arts, three from the New York State Council on the Arts and a research grant from the John S. Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
