Ewa Turska was born in Sopot, Poland in 1945, and lived in Warsaw until 1968 before leaving for the École internationale de cinéma in Brussels. After her arrival in Canada in 1975, she began producing documentaries for Radio-Canada and for the NFB. Besides her work in film and video, she has several theatre productions under her name from the early 1980s, when she worked as a director. At this time she also taught film history and theory at the CEGEP Francois-Xavier Garneau, as well as film production at Université Laval.
