Johane Fréchette was born in 1957. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Communications from the Université du Québec à Montréal and a certificat in Film studies from the Université de Montréal. In 1986, she co-fonded Productions Filles en vue inc. She now works as director, editor, researcher-scriptwriter and post-production director in television. She has worked on such films as Tout Désir d'oubli disparu (1991), 36 heures: la rue (1989) and La romance du rock (1985).
