They are 18 to 25 years old, and they have a deep-rooted passion for theatre. For the space of one school year, Conservatoire follows the passionate, exhilarating and initiatory experience of a few drama students and their gradual discovery of what might become their profession one day : the stage. The privileged relationship between masters and students brings to light doubt, determination and talent.

Director's comments :

All my life I’ve experienced by proxy the stress of these future students and the sensation, shared by my father and other teachers, that they were going to "gamble" their lives in a few minutes during the entrance exam. During this period, practically every one of them is convinced that it is essential that they succeed to seal their fate. And yet only ten of them will be chosen. At that point, I wish only to witness this stage, to experience it, to immortalise it and try to understand the tension.
