This video is a portrait of retired electrician and harmonica player, Émile Chevrier. This very likeable man lived on St-Denis street, across from the first Vidéographe location. He became a familiar face and even appeared in other Vidéographe productions dating back to the 1970's. When he isn't singing and playing harmonica in the streets, he is in his room, looking out the window, smoking, and drinking beer. He speaks of his bad leg, which should perhaps, be amputated. In the video's final sequence, he leaves the hospital with news that his leg must be amputated. In spite of this terrible news, he remains positive, and continues singing in the streets. This video captures the life of a simple man, whose courage and love of life makes him an exemplary figure.
