This video presents an overview of the problems facing the residents of Normandin, a village located at the extreme west of Lac St-Jean. Four of the major problems in the region are addressed and include the following : a decrease in church attendance, a decrease in the role of agriculture in the lives of people, unemployment, and an exodus of young people. Interviews with young people, a priest, and some older residents reveal that the major problem is the departure of young people. As a newly educated group, they have difficulty integrating into an agricultural milieu. The citizens of Normandin are aware of the problems and are searching for solutions. Normandin's community television has received exposure for it’s role in disseminating information about these problems.
