Golfers, a Belgian baron, the Mohawks and the Sulpicians throw the ball into each other's court over some land title deeds. Videotaped just prior to the tragic events of the summer of 1990, Kanesatake relives the history of the Mohawks in this region as they themselves perceive it, from the coming of the white man to today's situation. It also addresses violent confrontations with the Sulpician religious community. An essential document for understanding the Oka crisis in its historical context.
