Le jugement (El Juicio)

A difficult, somber piece in which the formal structure of imagery introduces objects, elements and textures that follow each other at a slow, almost hypnotic pace. The soundtrack employs rhythms that recall religious litanies, responding to a need to put order into the video's subject : that it is impossible to pass judgment once all the references have been accumulated. This work is part of the trilogy Les Armes et les attentions that deals with the theme of guilt. All the feelings of guilt, intermingled, large and small, are an attempt to reconcile differences. In the end, grand ideas and icons are only an amplified echo of daily life, and redemption does not exist.
