Shot during a trip to Iceland, Le paysagiste documents the attempts of an artist to explore, record and interpret a fascinating landscape. The particularities of the Icelandic landscape are presented as cartographic symbols, functioning as metaphors of human and technological memory. The amplified sounds of the wind, water and wildlife suggest a more dynamic presence for static imagery, preventing simple translation of the landscape into signs.
