In L'oeil daltonien, the colour blue, an element in the R.G.B. (Red, Green, Blue) signal of the video image, is subject to an investigation. The juxtaposition of colour blindness (daltonisme) and the eye's pigment creates a poetic dialogue. The video attempts to analyze the electronic rendering of colour. The work is composed with images of primary matter; ink, salt, silk and fire are translated in blue by the video image. The soundtrack plays a dual role; it echoes the textural quality and bi-dimensionality of the images simultaneously possessing a material quality of its own.
