An intimate dialogue which weaves back and forth between representations of a figure of resistance and a speaking subject, Soha Bechara, an ex-Lebanese National Resistance fighter. Bechara speaks from her Paris dorm room one year after her release from El-Khiam captivity; the conversation $$ takes place during the final year of the Israeli occupation. She relates her experiences in a southern Lebanese interrogation centre where she was detained for 10 years, 6 of which she spent in isolation. The video revises notions of resistance, survival and willpower and recounts experiences with death, separation, and closeness. The overexposed image and physical presence of a surviving martyr speaking quietly and directly into the camera have an immense power. Bechara focuses not on her torture but instead on the disparity between life and loss. She speaks of what has been left behind, and most importantly, of what remains.
