Les lieux-dits
Les lieux-dits is an extension of painting, an attempt to extract words from this artistic medium and yet to approach it even more closely. The painter sees his painting as mute, and decides to offer it to two characters who get bogged down with language. He wants to extract the words that might escape a painting and project them into a drama. Perception is multiplied, but scrambled. The painting becomes a film and its mechanism is unveiled, but the mystery is still preserved and even reinforced, as the two characters talk at different times such that their senses deceive them. The painter continues his work in words.
