This video brings to light the problems created by putting students who are considered maladjusted, due to learning problems, into special classes. These children, who are considered "slow", have nevertheless, normal behaviour patterns. They answer to questions about their desires and occupations. The video shows a group of students at a workshop in summer, outside the normal school environment which demonstrates their capacity to learn. Images of the children interspersed with the mothers' and teachers' testimonies off-camera follows. They talk about the circumstances that led these children into special classes and criticize the methods used to classify them and the administration’s lack of vision. Special classes, which often lack necessary resources, are seen as environments that are not conducive to reintegrating these children into normal school.
