La belle paix

Gilles Fournier lived as a recluse in the "zone d’exploitation contrôlée" (ZEC) Onatchiway in Quebec. On a premature snowmobile trip the still-unreliable autumn ice gave way under the weight of his snowmobile. Five days later his frozen body was found on the lake. This post-mortem portrait presents him through an intimate journey to the heart of memory. A look at a kind of solitude, at a generation that is disappearing, at values that will never change.
