S.O.S. Soma

This video is an account of the struggle of the workers at the SOMA plant - a Québec affiliate of Renault - who try to keep it from closing. The video tells the story of the factory and gives reasons for its closing and the means used by the workers to stop this process. It also highlights the Canadian automobile industry's dependence on foreign monopolies. The video critiques the factory's bad management, and the lack of political support on the part of the provincial government.
