In this interior landscape of word, thought, and gesture, real time is suspended, if not abolished. Fragments from works by Cha and Stevens draw together the separate lives of the late poets in a diffuse dialogue on the act of writing poetry, of seeking meaning through language, of continuing to live.

"In Wallace + Theresa, the narrative event is the event of narration itself. In its layered and fugue like mstructure, sound narrates and is answered by emblematic visual movement which is answered by printed and written texts which are answered by male and females voices speaking and whispering in syncopation and in unison, in French, English, and Korean. The temporality of the narration flickers, and the flicker is located somewhere between unfixed memory (reminiscence of distant events that are all but loss to memory) and a reverie of the present moment. Language is seen to recede from us. Loss and ineffable absence pervade the text of this work as they necessarily pervade the act of reading and the consequent search for meaning. The reader by the window has finished his book and tells the hour by the lateness of the sounds. Imagine for him the speech he cannot speak. (Wallace Stevens)"
