Bruges is a city by the sea. A Northern medieval city, maritime and earthly, exposed to all calamities, it emerges emptied of all its force and substance, awaiting rebirth. Bruges the museum city, centre of art. Undeterred throughout the centuries, the painter pursues, hunts, leaves traces, reflects on the life of the secret city. An inspired alchemist, he invents new materials, mixing pigments and oil with his breath. He offers colour and light, transparency and mass, and gives the city a chance at eternity.
