Traverse is the title of an environment created in 1986 by Paul Grégoire and presented at the Oboro Gallery. The video's authors, Grégoire and Laurendeau, co-produced a work of fiction based on this event. The viewer follows the comings and goings of three deer in the city of Montreal, and even their entrance on the stage of the Spectrum. Being questioned is the delimitation between the territories man has appropriated for himself and those he has reserved for wildlife. The notion of "crossing" as an area reserved for the possible encroachment of one species upon the territory of the other illustrates the only interaction which can take place...
