Archival images projected in the background provide the general atmosphere - bombardments, ruins, fire, soldiers, all symbols of war - to the video. On top of the soundtrack's crashing sounds, we see a succession of short sentences taken from the journal of Suzanne Léger, an inhabitant of Montbéliard particularly active in 1944. During the few weeks that preceeded the Liberation, she wrote about her emotions, anxieties, and about the questions and joys that filled her everyday life. Slowly, only words remain from those sentences. The words will shape the scenario of a film. The movie of those unforgettable hours.
