The Song of Aida

In 2002, Giovanni Princigalli shot his first film with a Roma family in Italy. Twenty years later, that family is still living in a shack. The couple, who are the protagonists of the film, are now running in municipal elections against the extreme right. We meet Aida when she was still a teenager, smiling at life. She was in love with Di Caprio and dreamed of becoming a model and singer. Today, she's a mother and wife. She suffers from depression. She wants a divorce and, for this reason, finds herself in conflict with her family. She has also had problems with the law after being arrested for theft. This film is above all the story of her struggle for emancipation, independence and a new life outside the Roma camp. A Roma camp as never before seen in such depth.
