An unrestrained series of cameos, a joyous romp through a gallery of living portraits where humour, poetry and melancholic songs intermingle. A girl demonstrates the workings of her washer; an artist, from the depths of his darkroom, witnesses the torments of creation. There are also fantastic encounters which appear scarcely believable. We see poetic compositions where the florist's son is seen exposed in all kinds of states - sleeping, walking, taking his bath, and receiving a bouquet of tulips and a fountain of paper on his head.

"With Le Garçon du Fleuriste, the Montrealers Charles Guilbert and Serge Murphy have made a trial video. A kind of documentary mixed with fiction, chaotic and worked like an English garden : free and easy, it lets accidents on the ground speak of the forces which shape the world. For nearly 45 minutes, we witness a great number of everyday anecdotes with a high quotient of humour : a young woman demonstrates how her washing machine operates; a young man shows his trick for enlarging leather sandals; a man having a bath tells stories about his most recent vacation. These seemingly insignificant episodes take on their full metaphysical dimension when they are placed alongside other, often quite moving sequences, in which artists (painters, photographers, writers) speak of the difficulty of creating, of the withdrawal from life that the act of creating imposes".
