A couple, married since 50 years, are being victimized by their children and grandchildren. This occurs through blackmail, misuse of funds, and mental and physical abuse. Disinterest and even rejection by the family are also in play. The abuse intensifies shortly before the mother's death. Through good fortune, August finds the help needed to escape the drastic situation he is faced with. From that point on, life takes on a normal rhythm. He regains courage, and helps other victims find the resources in order to end this social dilema.
