System of Fine Arts
The performance of an apparent interview with Philippe Poloni on screen.
"I'm comfortable in this room, yet you suffer. Why?"
"I'm comfortable with you, my darlings, yet you suffer. Why?"
"Tonight, I'm inviting my bottle of champagne to go out with me!"
"I'm speaking to camera one, but camera two is out of focus!"
"Look at the screen, I'm not there!"

"Système de Beaux-Arts, an installation or a performance? Daniel Dion and Philippe Poloni have no idea either. And yet they’re the ones who built and designed it. What interests them, first of all, is saying that they exist and how they feel about the things around them. Then, we’ll see, they say. Indeed we do see them, because their physical presence is necessary to the work. $$ Without them, the installation would be lifeless, or without importance. First of all: use the entire space of a museum gallery by filling it with scaffolding. The space becomes entangled with material, closed in upon itself. It destroys the three-dimensional illusions of indoor space. The task of bringing this space to life falls to the viewer, circulating inside an inside space".
