Ten Thousand Years
The entity once known as weatherman Phil Connors has been trapped in the town of Punxatawny for several millenia, experiencing the same day over and over again. The entity can anticipate every possible action and every conceivable outcome within this self-contained snow globe of a universe. The entity has finally become god. Combining appropriated footage with live video feedback, Ten Thousand Years is both a sequel and a remix of the 1993 film Groundhog Day. Ten Thousand Years is a contemplation on stillness and the emergence of form amidst the underlying fuzz of chaos. This film is a collaboration with writer Ross Sutherland, of the experimental fiction podcast Imaginary Advice.
