Director's comments

This is an innovative project because in this film I use two cameras which simultaneously film the dialogue of two actors facing each other. The goal of this technique is to create a shot in which we see the two characters at the same time in a dissolve (in other words, the film is an unbroken shot in which the characters are superimposed on each other as if they were connected to each other). This simultaneous shot-counter shot makes it possible to miss nothing of their conversation, in which the subtleties of the actors’ performances are closely examined. At the end of the film, this transparency is broken when Samuel exits the frame, leaving Samuel alone (thereby reinforcing his solitude). Finally, it was particularly interesting to work with the actors Denis Leclerc and Éric Chalifour. Not only are they experienced actors, but they are also good friends, which reinforces the credibility and intensity of the mise en scène.
