Esprit de famille is a documentary which tells the story of three members of different generations of a Quebec family who partake in an adventure to trace the origins of their lineage up to the arrival of their first ancestors in America. The characters find themselves on the road in the Maritimes. During the course of their voyage, each one will meet with distant cousins and the spirits of their Acadian ancestors. In an amusing and poetic manner, this film seeks to answer various questions of identity and belonging within the French speaking society today. A tribute to the origins of French language in North America.
