The Visual Race
Experimental film/video made up of eight segments, some originally shot on film and some on video. Images and sound range from a colour-manipulated sea pulsing with the sound of digitally processed vocals, to stark urban landscapes combined with synthesizer soundscapes, to performance sequences of original experimental music. The artist appears throughout the piece as a character responding to today's world with the use of his layered and processed images, and lyrics dealing with the values of modern society and the omnipotence of mass media. His metaphorical journey begins on the shore of the amniotic sea and ends in solitary observation of himself through the deconstructing eye of the camera as a symbol of iconic media.
